Oct 25th: 2 Important New Rules

Downloaders are free to PM seeders and request more bandwidth if a torrent is slow. If a seeder does not unthrottle until a copy is successfully distributed to that unsatisfied user and staff receive a complaint, expect a warning.

You must inform a moderator if you have access to a high speed server from which you will be torrenting. If you do not, you risk being singled out and reviewed for unusual activity. You must supply to us a speedtest or a screenshot of your torrent client with "AlphaOmega" and your username written in a search bar or similar. Speedtest IP host will be verified against your account.

We hope downloaders take advantage of the new rule. AO is very different when it comes to rules. We aim to be understanding to everyone and we value retention and how to achieve it. The first new rule subtly underlines it is ok, if you choose to do so, to throttle your bandwidth on AO torrents.

Calm down calm down. We understand what we're saying here. People belong to many trackers and AO like most can put a lot of strain on your bandwidth. We don't encourage you to limit your speeds because we are a torrent site after all and if every user has to PM someone to get their files the point of file sharing here is lost. Throttle if you're not a seedbox user but if your a user sharing to many trackers on a home connection and don't mind receiving less upload from here and not rising through the user classes then by all means do so.

We are not PTP, What.CD or BTN. We are not a niche. I love to think that we and other such sites like ourselves are a driving power for these niche sites' content. If a scene rip spreads from AO to say PTP then job bloody well accomplished and if it has more seeders there than on AO then damn; we just succeeded in distributing something further afield where it is properly categorised, sorted, and has a whole host of specialised features that we simply can not do justice on.
We do quick and fast distribution, we give a source for new and old uploaders to come and get their uploads from to bring to niche torrent sites.

If we retained older content as long as these content directed sites then we would be robbing them of a seeder. That seeder should be on the proper genre tracker seeding what we shared out once to them. Proper dedication of seeders to the right place with all their bandwidth is what makes me glow inside.

May the seedboxes pummel their connections but the content spreading users please, and I beg you, seed to the places that are reputable and well worth their weight that need it more than us. Take from AO and share it out, lower your bandwidth on AO torrents if you feel the need but continue seeding to here. We love you and we don't want to ever restrict you.

Right, enough of that, onto the 2nd new rule. We don't call ourselves a Seedbox Automaton for nothing. Everything that is seeded to you when it first gets uploaded comes from GigE connected servers. Our user base revolves around those that enjoy high-speed file sharing. Those with seedboxes message a staff member, not jason or tekky please, and fulfil the requirements in the new rule. Our anti-cheat scripts are draconian and if you don't tell us you're uploading at several mbits so we can tick a tiny checkbox in your account settings, you will be highlighted to us.

    That's all folks!
