To take full advantage of the new and revised BitMeTV description generator, the following will have to take place.

1) Clear your browser cache
2) Restart your browser

The description generator has gone under the knife yet again, and we're proud to annouce it!


What Changes were made

Without going too much into detail on the technical stuff, partly because I don't know it.

TV Rage
TVRage information is now cached. What does this mean? If a show has ever been ran on the description generator, whether it be during testing or since it's full implementation, the show summary is cached on the server, so load times are minimal, hardly noticeable (compared to before).

Episode Information
Episode information, is now directly pulled from TheTVDB. This currently only applies to categoried shows - Any show that does not have a category on BitMeTV will not pull any information from TheTVDB, only TVRage however, that information is cached so you wont have to wait too long for your description to generate.

Please be sure to reference TheTVDB, only shows with categories will you need to do this, however some information that is on TVRage may be different than TVDB. This typically occurs with Talk Shows, for instance, if TVDB lists the season as a year "2014" that would go in the S box.

If information is inaccurate at TVDB, please fill free to join their service (for free) and edit it yourself. We are asking everyone who participates in Uploading to bitmetv or experiences false information to do so, or post here so that someone who may have an account their can get it up and running.

Formating
As you will notice, during testing the genre area was cluttered and clumped together, that has now changed.

The Show Title, will now show above the banner (if applicable) in NAVY color and linked to TVRage.

The Number, Date and Title are now BOLD.

New Features
The Description generator now can pull double episodes. Note there is a limit on how many episodes it will pull in one given try (ie it can only pull 20) to limit the number of times we access TVDB's server at one time.

For instance, if you have a show that just finished (and is not assigned - see internal packs) and it has less than 20 episodes, you would run the description generator as such S: 1 E: 1-20, it will pull every one of those episodes, create The number, air date and title (title is clickable), as well as each episode's description (if applicable) as a spoiler tag.

You can also pull odd ball episodes, such as 1 and 5. (ie S: 1 E: 1,5) will pull episode 1 and 5 of that show. (each episode needs to be seperated by comma's. DO NOT ABUSE THIS)

Problems, Errors ETC
If you experience any problems, or errors, please fill free to let staff know via the Forums (here), do not PM any staff member without prior approval from said staff member. It's best to post in the forums as then any member of staff can alert the appropriate staff members.

Future
We are currently looking into pulling TVDB's banners for shows that are not assigned banners, so that no description is without one. We will inform you of this update when and if we are able to get it working.
