As you may have noticed, we're testing out a new system to auto-upload scene music content directly to CoExist. But if you noticed that, you also noticed that there's a bug we're trying to work on. The problem is that, for some reason, the artist info for each upload is only grabbing the first letter of the artist's name.

It's a strange little bug, and we're trying to get to the bottom of it. But in an effort to maximize the content, we'd prefer not to turn off the auto-uploader while we're figuring out the problem.

In order to make that happen, though, we need your help to fix all the artist names. If we leave it to the staff, it'll take hours each day to get through, but if everybody chips in and just fixes a couple as we see them, it'll be a really minor problem.

So let's give this a shot. If the community chips in, we'll keep it going this way until the bug is fixed and we'll all be rewarded by tons of great new content.

If you're already good with Gazelle and know how to fix artist tags in the torrent details page, have at it! If you've never messed with it, take a look below for a step-by-step that'll get you started. It's nice & easy, and will take you less than a minute per item.

Quick guide to editing artist tags

1) You're looking at the browse page and just a first letter for the artist's name. Now click on the album title to enter the details page.

2) Now you need to figure out who the artist is, and there are two easy ways to do that:
2a) Look through the nfo that makes up the album description section. Somewhere in there you'll find all the info you need about the torrent, including the artist.
2b) Do a 'View filelist', and the folder name will have the artist's name.

3) After you figure out who the artist is, just glance to the right side of the page, and you'll see a box titled "Add artist". In the field below it, fill in the artist's name, and hit the 'Add' button.
3a) If it's a VA album, in that field please write out the whole thing as "Various Artists" (without the quotes).
3b) If it's a single or something that has another contributor (e.g. abc feat. xyz), add the first artist's name as 'Main', and the featured artist(s) as 'Guest'.

4) After you've hit the add button and gotten it all squared away, take a look at the box on the right titled "Artists". You'll see that the first letter is still there. Just hit the 'X' link to the right of it, and that'll blow that away.
