In response to the deteriorating quality of folder/file labeling and tagging, we would like to remind our uploaders of the existing [ rules ] ,

along with a new set of minimum requirements -

Music releases must be properly labeled and tagged:

* Folder names must include Artist(s), Title, Year, Source. Cat# is recommended.

* File names must include Track#, Artist(s), Title.

* mp3 and FLAC ID3 tags must include Artist(s) and Title. Track# and Year are recommended.


Repeated failure to comply with all of the above will result in the removal of your upload rights.


Properly labeled torrents can trump those with >5 seeders that don't conform with the minimum folder and file name requirements.

This applies only to torrents uploaded after 28/11/2010. When trumping a torrent, report the original to staff for removal along with your changelog.


It is highly recommended that you include artwork and an .nfo in your upload.



Goals

* define a set of minimum labeling and tagging requirements and enforce them


* improve the overall quality of DB9 torrent archive



Non-Goals

* please all of our members, all of the time


* define a set of rules so complex they deter well-meaning members from sharing


* weaken our seed-base and drive our mods to the brink of insanity with an overly ambitious trumping scheme
