Show/Hide Oct-26-10 - Charity Donation Drive ( A* )


So, I thought I'd explain my idea behind the "charity poll" currently running on the front page. I'm choosing to do it here, since more people read the General Discussion forum than the poll discussions.

The idea behind the poll, was to do a "donation drive", where PWT as a community comes together to help out a good cause for the Christmas season. The "PWT Donation Drive" is actually a very simple concept where the following will happen.

One of the following (poll results by November 1st will decide) will receive a PWT Community Donation, hopefully a quite large one to really make a difference:
# Wrestler's Rescue
# Amnesty International
# World Wildlife Fund
# Electronic Frontier Foundation
# Toys for Tots
# Pirate Parties International

The way we want to do this is by doing the following:
# Starting now, the donations rewards have been, as a minimum, doubled. See the forum thread or donation page for donation rewards.
# Until the Donation Bar reaches 100%, half of all donations go towards the cause chosen by the users in the poll.
# Once the donation bar reaches 100% ALL donations will fully go towards the cause chosen by the users in the poll
