Today NWCD enters it's third year. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and efforts to pull our community closer together since our downtime in September. The last few months have been hard on users and staff alike. While it may not seem as though much has been happenning since the tracker and site came back up, we've made some changes behind the scenes which will enable more of our staff team to have a greater impact on both the appearance and functionality of the site. These changes will mean our third year will be more like our first - improvements and developments to both Gazelle allowing our overall philosophy and objectives to flourish. Over the next few months we will be taking on help from skilled and experienced users from within our community in order to take the immediate pressure off of and in the long-term build up our very modest staff team. Alchemists

The process uploaders and moderators go through in order to achieve the Gold standard has been a huge learning experience for all involved. We feel that the best way to move forward is to make use of all the experience and knowledge we have gained since we introduced the standard by recruiting the very ones that have spent so much time and effort in achieving it over and over themselves - Gold veterans so to speak!

We'd like to offer a special welcome to the first wave of Alchemists - dedicated members of our community who have volunteered to undertake the rewarding, yet daunting task of handling Gold submissions. Over the last few weeks they have been working hard to take onboard all the finer points of assessing submissions from a staff perspective, and over the next few days they will begin processing Gold reports under light staff supervision. Hopefully this will not hinder their own uploading efforts too much :regular_smile:

Please meet c******, y***** and a******, soon to be familiar voices to those on the Gold path. We wish them many fruitful hours of (hard) labor and hope they know that they are embarking on this task with the full backing and utmost faith from the staff team.

Further recruitment and training will take place behind the scenes and future Alchemists will be introduced to the community in due course.

Open Borders

The long-awaited promise of the return of traditional invites has finally been honored. You are now free to invite new members to our community as you see fit without any oversight from staff. Please ensure that you read the Golden Rules pertaining to invites and understand that you are responsible for anyone you invite to NWCD. Do not invite strangers. Public giveaways are forbidden - this includes the offering of invites on any forum (class restricted or otherwise) on any other tracker or within any open or closed community. Use your invites wisely and with careful thought as to how potential new users you know and trust might appreciate our standards.
