South African online pirates reveal their favourite broadband connections and Internet Service Providers MyBroadband recently conducted an online piracy survey, which revealed that Telkoms ADSL service is a firm favourite among South Africas Internet pirates. Afrihost is the most popular ISP among pirates. The online Piracy survey was completed by 4,007 IT professionals and tech-savvy Internet users in South Africa. The results revealed that 55% of people who completed the survey have pirated copyrighted movies, TV series, music, software, or games over the last 12 months. The survey showed that 74% of online pirates in South Africa use ADSL as their primary broadband connection. This is well above Telkoms mobile broadband service, which is second on 6%. Looking at the ISP of choice for online pirates, Afrihost topped the list with 33%, followed by Telkom Internet on 23%, and MWEB on 17%.
