2011 Underground Gamer Safe Content Updates!

This year brings several revisions to the Safe Content rules. Not only have we decided to increase the Safe Year, we have also revised our policies on the arcade games and have removed loopholes in some rules that allowed users to upload content we did not intend to allow on the tracker.

To summarize, the changes are as follows:

All categories
• The current safe year is 2003 or older. For content checked by year, the original date of release or airing must be before January 1, 2004.
• All collections must follow a clearly defined theme.

Arcade
• The temporary injunction against Atomiswave is now lifted. Games and emulators for this system are now safe to upload.
• All games for arcade systems included in MAME are safe.
• Games for other arcade systems are only safe if the game's release date was 2006 or earlier. This means the original date of release must be before January 1, 2007.

Literature
• Guides for unsafe games may only be uploaded in compilations, and only if those compilations also contain guides for safe games.
• Scans or photographs of game manuals, media or packaging are only safe if the game itself is safe.
