    July Picks: Anything Goes

Woodenhead: Swell - Song Seven: One of my favourite songs by one of my favourite bands of all time.

In the reader's poll [Album of the Year, 1994] it was a draw between Portishead's first Dummy and Nirvana's last Unplugged. Both of those albums gave me the chills when they came out. But somehow they didn't stand the slightest chance against the chef d'œuvre of one of the most original eclectic bands of the 90's.

izmo: Mark Gormley - Without You: If you've seen this song on youtube, you've seen everything there is to see in this world.

Nomado: The Reign of Kindo - The Moments in Between: Fantastic band, cool lyrics and amazing musicianship. If you're into "jazz rock", The Reign of Kindo must be looked at. And they're releasing an upcoming album on this July 30th.

groovyds: Deee-Lite - Bring Me Your Love: This album brings back some great memories of my youth. I 'almost' remember seeing Dee-Lite play live in the original Sound Factory back in the day. Those years were a little foggy for me

All in all a great fun/chill album - hard to pick a fav song on this one, but I chose 'Bring Me Your Love'. I hope you will enjoy the whole album as I do. Let me know which track does it for you, if any.

condon313: Milk Music - Illegal and Free: Milk Music does grunge/slacker right, and if you got a problem with that, I doubt they are gonna do a damn thing about it. don't fuck with me, man, I'm illegal and free

Vitz: Phole - Reaching The End: I'm just shamelessly plugging one of my best friends' album here, because it deserves to be heard. His debut album "Pleasing" was very well received around Waffles a few years ago, and his sophomore album does not disappoint. If you're into, well, music, give this a listen. It's hard not to like.

Samhain: Boards of Canada - Aquarius: More music from Scotland. This is one of the greatest electronic albums of all time, and definitely one of my favourites. Most folks have heard it already but this is for the people that haven't. ORANGE.

michelle: Foy Vance - Be The Song: Summer evenings with a glass of sangria out on the deck watching the fireflies, listening to this song. That's pretty much been my July.
