We're officially back from our planned service outage and we have some great news for you all: PassThePopcorn has officially migrated its backend to the Ocelot tracker! For those of you unfamiliar with Ocelot, it's the culmination of years of effort from the great folks over at what.cd (the same people who created Gazelle).

In the past few months we've seen a huge growth in our peer count. As we continued to grow, problems started to arise from the extra strain this put on our tracker. As a result, a small subset of users were experiencing issues with their download/upload status being updated on freeleech torrents. This should now be resolved, and freeleech torrents will now update correctly for all users. In addition, the download amounts reported on the HnR snatchlist will be the true download amounts (and not, for example, 0 bytes in the case of freeleech torrents). The migration to Ocelot will allow us to run a faster and more stable tracker, as well as give us plenty of room as we continue to grow in the future.

Rule Changes:

While our tracker may have changed, our commitment to bringing you highest quality encodes available remains the same. In light of this, the rules have been updated to explicitly forbid all transcodes (any rip which uses another encode as its source). This includes BRRips. Re-encoding an already compressed source results in a subpar quality rip. Any transcodes currently on the site have been marked trumpable.
There's also been some changes to our torrent checking policy. While we sincerely appreciate everyone's help checking torrents in the past, due to a number of issues torrent checking has now been restricted to members of staff and may be extended to others on an individual basis at a later time.
