‘Boruto: Naruto The Movie’ Pirated Downloads In Full Swing Following LEAK? Film Still Rakes In $16.8M

"Boruto: Naruto The Movie" was shockingly leaked online on multiple sites within a few days of its release. The latest movie of the Naruto film series hit the theaters of Japan last August 7.

According to Venture Capital Post, the piracy surrounding the movie is on full swing as it can be found on Reddit, 4Chan, Facebook, Twitter and popular Torrent engine sites.

However, according to the International Business Times, the leaked "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" does not have English subtitles since it was illegally recorded inside the cinema. Unfortunately, English dubbed movies were released online shortly after.

But the biggest surprise is that the piracy has not affected its earnings as it was reported by multiple news sites that it raked in a total of 2.02 billion Yen or $16.8 million. As of August 25, the latest Naruto movie enjoyed a successful opening as it earned millions of dollars within just 3 days.

As reported by Comic Book Resources, this movie was written by none other than the series creator himself, Masashi Kishimoto, who also served as the main character designer and chief production supervisor.

The movie revolves around Naruto's son, Boruto, and Sasuke's daughter, Sarada, who was shown on the last chapter of the hit manga and the previous "Naruto" movie.

The trailer for the movie shows the titular character Boruto battling using the "gentle fist style" against a shinobi speculated to be Shikadai.

The plot further thickens when the surrounding mystery around the identity of Shikadai's parents were about to be revealed. It turns out, the next and final trailer of the movie revealed that his father is none other than "Naruto" villain Orochimaru.

The "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" is projected to be released on select U.S. theaters on Oct. 10. For the list of cinema houses that will show the said movie, visit Anime News Network.
