If you're one of those people who blushes slightly when watching the password scene in Spaceballs, this post is for you.

An examination of the leaked user/password lists that occasionally surface reveals that there are a lot of people out there using retarded passwords. And if your password is retarded, you're retarded; in this day and age there's no excuse for not being aware of the dangers.

This applies also, by the way, to those of you who use the same username and password on multiple torrent sites. That's just asking for trouble. KG went to the trouble recently of forcing all users to change their passwords; we don't want to do that. But we'll have little sympathy for anyone who suddenly finds that someone in darkest Peru is downloading stuff from their account.

If your password is some variant on any of '123456', 'password' or anything equally ridiculous, or if you use the same password elsewhere, change it now.

Feel like whining that you can't remember a ton of passwords? Don't. Just keep them all in a text file and encrypt it with gnupg.

You know it makes sense.
