Changes to preferred image hosts - 08/01/14


After some deliberation we've decided to make some changes to the preferred image hosting sites. As of now, we have added someimage.com to the list of preferred sites and moved imgbox to the unwanted list, because for many people it's just slow and unreliable. This change is also reflected in the rules.

Attention uploaders


We would like to discourage our uploaders from using imgbox.com to host the images, it seems that it became slow and malfunctioning constantly, giving nothing but headache when opening images (many 502 errors).


Favourite ImageBam.com is still a solid imagehoster with many years of service, but it's sometimes rather slow or (usually temporarily) giving empty page instead of an image.


As an alternative we would like to bring to your attention SomeImage.com that has all the nice features like imgbox or ImageBam (no amount limits, galleries, list of uploaded images, saved settings) and more (hotlinking, 15 MB file limit) and most importantly it's very fast and so far reliable.


Also note that you can use GreaseMonkey script Show Just Image 3 for removing ads and showing just the image. Support for someimage.com can be easily added with small change.
