With 2015 now upon us, it is now our turn to celebrate the occasion and wish everyone a good start for the new year!

We are very happy to have not only survived another year but to have also grown as a community. This growth is reflected statistically: despite having closed applications in early October we've not only seen a stable amount of peers (close to 300,000 peers) but also seen an increase in activity. Over the past year we've added over 38 000 torrents, 160 000 forum posts, and around 1 300 members to the site - yay!

We're especially happy to see a big growth of the "higher ranked" user classes and the many new users who've taken to uploading new torrents to the site. That's why we'd like to give a huge thank you to all the uploaders - we simply would not survive without you.

We also proudly announce a few changes in the staff team with two new Developers and the promotion of three Moderators to Senior Moderators. We hope to be able to make this new year a very productive one! Please welcome synapse and nikkun as new Developers, and congratulations to aw3efgz7p, Xyresic and Zeroxv on their promotions to Senior Moderators!

To kick start the new year (and as a late Christmas present) we have enabled Global Freeleech until this Sunday (the fourth of January). We will also re-open applications early next week Site applications have been re-opened again so if you have any friends that would like to be part of AB, please alert them!
