Hoping everyone is starting the new year off right - with lots of links!

As always, we have some things going on behind the scenes. Hopefully we'll have those ready to roll out every so often over the next few months. Some minor things just popped up that some of you may have noticed.

First, the small "#sig" link in the top right of the screen. That's for our newly revamped IRC channel. Details on the channel can be found below (News #23) but this is a simple way for anyone to quickly join chat. It's a web-based IRC client that's really simple to use. To get started simply click "#sig" then click "Start". That's all. You can register your name - follow the help on how to do so. There's currently a #trivia channel to join (/join #trivia) and we'll be adding some other useful and entertaining channels in the near future. There's usually a site Mod or Admin in the chat to help if you need it - site, link or IRC-related questions welcome.

Additionally, the info at the top of every link has been rearranged a little. The date/time is now shown as well as a formatted series section. This section will link you to the sigTV listing for that show so you can easily get to past episodes. For example, this episode of The Mentalist (The Mentalist (s06e05) "The Red Tattoo") has a Series line linking to "The Mentalist" on sigTV where you'll find the rest of Season 06's episodes. [we know the list autoscrolls forever, listing links from the main page after, we're addressing this - our apologies]

This series info has also been added to the "Add A Link" page but is currently disabled, and as before, is still being manually entered by staff. We're still refining how this field will work. It will probably use an auto-complete list of all series currently in sigTV, for ease of use. This will make sure you don't accidentally enter something like "Rick & Morty" instead of "Rick and Morty". Also, tvbot needs to get a slight upgrade to use the new field.

One final policy change/announcement. As of January 2014, users will be rewarded for inviting other active users. All invites bought after January 01, 2014 (this includes all December contest invites) will be eligible for token refunds. Simply put, if you invite someone that gains 15 tokens, you'll be refunded 15 tokens, currently half the cost of the original invite. We'll consider adding other tiers to essentially make invites free for those who are inviting active users, but currently, it's just 15 for 15.
