We have been observing a significant increase in number of attempts to breach security across multiple private trackers to compromise security/privacy of members. This prompted me to post an announcement related to the same topic, yet again.

Here, at PtN, we value your security and privacy above everything else, and would like to assure you that there are enough safeguards in place to ensure that your private information doesn't get compromised.

Having said that, I'd still suggest you read the following tips/suggestions carefully, and be a little more cautious about your online activities in the future.

Use Different passwords across all web sites. It is the single most important step towards securing your account(s) and protecting your own privacy.
Have a strong password for your email account(s) as well. A strong password typically has a length of over 8 characters, and has Alphabets, Numbers and special characters. Example: 9k1Qt@k%a$xY

Is that password a little too difficult for you to generate and/or remember? Don't worry. There is a free addon for most browsers provided by - http://www.LastPass.com
The Addon is quite user friendly, and comes in handy while creating secure passwords and managing logins to multiple sites from within your browser.

Refrain from joining websites or forums of dubious repute. Admins on such shady sites tend to harvest your personal info by storing passwords, email IDs etc in plain text. Later, they use these details to try and take control of your account(s).

So, read the fore mentioned tips again and take control of your online security by:
Changing your email account password with something that is really strong/secure.
Changing your passwords across all sites as well.
