The majority of this news post is going to be happy news, so I'll keep the downtime part short. The recent downtime we have experienced this week was yet again caused by heat issues with the rack in the datacenter we host at. I am tempting the gods in saying that this time they have told us that they have resolved the issue. We are seeking compensation for the lost uptime, however this will not occur until we have stabilized for a couple days. On a related note, we have finally been compensated for the majority of the month from our last host in the form of hosting credit for one of our servers which is still hosted there.

Now, the good news! CoffeeCake has been hard at work, even developing on our development server as the main site was down! He has made quite a few changes to collections, and we think they're the best they've ever been. See below for an outline of the changes.

Collections are now tracked by IMDb: We need you to fill in the collections that are missing torrents with their IMDb URL. Enter the IMDb URL in the box where you normally enter the PTP URL. To see an example of what it looks like, follow this link: /collages.php?id=676 . When you add an IMDb URL to a collection, the site will add the PTP link to the collection if found, or it will be marked "missing". When a movie gets uploaded that matches a "missing torrent", it will automatically get added to the collection. If a group is deleted from the site, it is automatically be marked "missing". You do not need to go and re-enter IMDb URLs for torrents already existing in the collection.

Quick Add: You can now add to the collection without having to reload the page each time.

List: There is now a "List" section under the description which shows the entire collection including the missing torrents. Many descriptions currently include a list of movies in the group. This was mostly useful for showing which movies are missing. After you update the collection to include the missing IMDb links, feel free to remove the list in the description.

Management Tools: We've added a "Save" button, so all torrent Sort #s can be edited at the same time. You can edit the Sort #s of torrents that are "missing" too. "Power Tools" are also available to the person that created the collection and Elite+. With "Power Tools", you can automatically adjust the Sort #s by 1s, by 10s, by Year, Alphabetically, or Reverse the collection. Click "Save" if you agree with how the new #s look. Please read the warning and do not vandalize collections because you are interested in seeing what a collection would look like if it was sorted by year.

Nitty gritty details: If a group gets merged into another group, the collections will follow. The exception to this is if a specific IMDb was added to a collection and the IMDb on the old group is different than the new group IMDb, it will get marked "missing". If the IMDb gets changed on a group, it will either add it to the appropriate collection, or it will mark that movie "missing" assuming the collection was added via IMDb.
