PTP Contests
As some of you may know, PTP have a forum that is specifically dedicated to contests. These are normally run by various users of the site, and have varying objectives in mind, but all enhance PTP and give you the great selection you see.
Anyone can participate in these contests - there are no user level limits, you don't have to have been a member for a certain period of time etc.

Here are just a few of the contests we have at the moment:

The first upload contest and questionnaire - want to contribute to PTP by uploading a movie we don't already have? This contest was set up to encourage people to make their first upload by giving them that extra incentive. Tied in with this contest is a questionnaire that is optional and open to new users. You do not have to upload to do the questionnaire. This questionnaire encourages new users to search the site in order to answer the questions.

SD x264 upload contest - this was introduced as a means of increasing the number of Standard Definition x264 encodes on site, and has been one of the longest running and most successful contests to date. We have various guides on site that can teach you how to encode using x264, and this contest is also overseen by the sites Encode Team, who offer advice and help for all encoders, both beginner and not so new. So if you're into SD encoding, or know where to find lots of SD encodes that PTP doesn't already have; this one's for you.

Request filling contest - encourages the filling of older requests. The older the request is, the more bonus points you can earn by filling it. Please ensure you read the request fully before filling it.

Or, if you like; you can start your own contest. Just remember that you need to read the Contest Rules thread first. If you are unsure, please ask staff.
