Torrent Damage no longer Disables Users for Low Ratio

What exactly does this mean? The site is ratioless?

No, the site still has a ratio policy, but instead of it being enforced, it's become optional. We've learned over time that there are many extenuating circumstances where people are not able to maintain a ratio, including:

• Slow speeds from their provider
• Bandwidth caps enforced by ISP's
• Cost of keeping equipment running for ever
• Unfair competition with other peers (people with faster speeds or even dedicated internet solutions designed for high performance)
• Not enough leechers

The last one being one of our biggest problems - because people feel like it's not easy to maintain a ratio (and they would be right), they do not download - which just only exacerbates the problem

So this announcement is just a friendly reminder to those of you who are either unwilling or unable to maintain a ratio.

• There is no more need to GHOST LEECH!
• There is no more need to FEAR the BANHAMMER!
• You will not be shunned for falling into the leech class!
• Can't be a power user? DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! You can still obtain The Power user privileges such as Top10 and Requests section (when written) by donating!

Small Print:

Leech Class users are limited to a restricted number of simultaneous downloads - this is only done in an attempt to make it possible for them to climb back up to ordinary user class. They are not restricted to how many items they can be seeding simultaneously. If ever we remove the leech class, we will take any actions necessary to prevent users who are already in the leech class from being disabled.
