A lot of users have been running into problems with certain torrents not connecting to the tracker and, in turn, showing the red icon in uTorrent. The problem is that a lot of people are still using the beta site's announce URL (http://beta.mixedsalt.info).

Odds are, if you're seeing red torrents, you downloaded those torrents a while ago and just need to change the announce URL. If you know how to do that, go for it. If you need some instructions, here goes...

1) First, you'll need to copy the current announce URL that also has your passkey within it. It should look something like this:

Here are two easy ways to find it:

a) In uTorrent, right-click on a green torrent (it has to be a torrent seeding here), and then select 'Properties'. You'll find your personal announce URL in the large text field. Make sure to highlight the whole thing, then hit Ctrl+c or right-click and select 'Copy'.

b) Go to the upload page (upload.php). Toward the top of that page you'll find your personal announce URL. Highlight it and copy it.

2) Now clear the uTorrent dialog box or go back to uTorrent. Use Ctrl+click to select all of your red torrents (CE only, of course). After you've got them selected, right-click on one of the highlighted ones, then select 'Properties'. In the text box, you should see the old beta.mixedsalt.info URL. Just delete it.

3) Replace the old URL that you just removed with your correct, current personal announce URL by either hitting Ctrl+v or right-clicking and selecting 'Paste'.

4) Hit the OK button to clear the dialog box, and all your CE torrents should now return to green.

That's it. It's a lot longer to read than to actually do, so don't worry!
