BitMe's server move was successful. Network issues caused by a prolonged Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack caused the site to be only intermittently available for an extended period. The DDoS issue has been brought under control, and further efforts are being made to prevent a recurrence. We thank you for being patient while this problem was addressed.

Announcement for users of ľTorrent 3.1: Due to some significant bugs, version 3.1 will be banned very soon. If you use ľTorrent 3.1, please update to the latest stable version of ľTorrent: currently 3.1.2.

ľTorrent 3.1.2 (for Windows) is designated as the current "stable" release by its developers, and it is whitelisted and in use on BitMe. New builds of version 3.1.2 have been released at frequent intervals since its introduction. BitMe.org appreciates that development of the client is active and that bugs are being addressed promptly, but maintenance updates occurring almost daily should not be a characteristic of a truly "stable" client. Consequently, BitMe.org will not be whitelisting the next major version release of ľTorrent until it has spent some time demonstrating that it is truly stable.

When the next major version of ľTorrent is released, DO NOT UPDATE to that version until an announcement has been posted that the client has been whitelisted. If you update anyway, you will either have to wait until the client is whitelisted (which may be a lengthy period of time), or you will have to roll back to an earlier version or switch to a different client.

This announcement does not apply to version 3.1.2 or any of the other versions of ľTorrent currently whitelisted by BitMe.org. It does not apply to the Mac or Linux versions; it only applies to the Windows version. All "stable" maintenance builds for version 3.1.2 will continue to be whitelisted, unless otherwise announced.
