Rinaldi Sings - Whats it All About?

No deep meanings this time, just 12 great pop songs, I hope you all enjoy them - smug1

RINALDI SINGS play a stylish and uptempo brand of pop that acknowledges a deep debt to the orchestrated bubblegum Northern Soul of the late Sixties. Described by the NME as "a cocksure 21st Century Scott Walker", singer/songwriter Steve Rinaldi has crafted an album strong on melody and rich in powerful pop hooks. A contemporary take on the sound of acts like The Foundations and The Love Affair, ‘What’s It All About?’ boasts the kind of addictive brass riffs and soaring string arrangements that have led many music critics to liken Rinaldi Sings to orchestrated indie pop acts like My Life Story and the Divine Comedy. But Steve Rinaldi continues to make music quite unlike anything else on the market and continues to surprise listeners with his distinctive cockney pop. Definitely one of THE discoveries of 2005.

The first Rinaldi Sings single was released on Tangerine Records in May 2004. A cover version of Tony Christie's 'Avenues And Alleyways', theme tune to Seventies cult TV show 'The Protectors', the single was one of DJ Gary Crowley's Choice Cuts Of The Week on BBC Radio London, while the flipside track 'Lucky Day' appeared at No.10 in the Playlist of MOJO magazine. To promote the single, Rinaldi Sings made a promotional film, directed by cult singer/songwriter and former Creation Records lynchpin Edward Ball.

The debut Rinaldi Sings album 'What's It All About?' has received rave reviews in many of the country's leading rock magazines and featured among the Best Albums Of 2004 in the Village Voice's annual Rock Critics Poll, despite not being released until the following year! The album was produced by Ian Shaw and the many musical collaborators who featured on the recordings included Paul Bevoir of The Jetset, who also co-wrote 'This Time Tomorrow'
