We're Back!

...at least mostly. In case you missed it, this Reddit thread gives a brief overview of what happened. There will be a news post with more details in the coming days. That news post will also explain how we plan to prevent anything similar from happening in the future.

You'll probably notice that although the site looks the same, much of the data is different. The main source for the current database was a full backup from February 10th 2015. We further managed to restore a significant amount of data from other sources, but unfortunately those sources were incomplete. Combined, we were able to completely restore the following: accounts missing from the backup, class promotions, and uploaded torrents. If you believe one of those items was not restored correctly, please send a Staff PM. Note that if your paranoia was set to hide uploads, we were unable to associate torrents you uploaded after February 10th with your account. This will be corrected in the coming days. Also, if you joined after February 10th, you have a new passkey. You will need to redownload your .torrent files or mass-edit the announce URLs in your client. We expect to restore the following in the near future: request fills, donation status, donation rewards, and lumens store purchases. Long-term, we will be working on correcting torrent information, adding stamps, and filling in other missing data.

Unfortunately we simply didn't have data for many things, making it impossible to restore them. Those things included: snatches, data transfer, bonus points, forum posts, email changes, private messages, notification filters, and much more. The best we could do was to restore them from the February 10th 2015 backup.

We know this is disappointing for many members, especially those who were working towards a class promotion. We take full responsibility for the data loss, and we want to make it right. We have some ideas for a compensation package, but before we finalize and announce it, we want to get input from our members. If you have an idea for what fair compensation would be, please post and let us know. We cannot promise your idea will be used, but we do promise it will be considered.

There might be some kinks we haven't worked out yet. If you notice something that seems wrong, please check here for an answer. If you can't find one, post in the Broadcast Interference forum so we can correct it if possible. One issue we are aware of is Notifications/RSS downloading episodes you already have, or episodes you don't want. We have removed torrents uploaded before April 8th from RSS feeds, but because this was done after we brought the site up, you may have some H&Rs or downloads you don't want. Ignore these for the time being, but this is not a guarantee that we will remove all H&Rs.

Finally, we want to thank everybody who expressed support while the site was down.

Véleményem szerint: "- Futottak volt kategória...". A Torrent-társadalom valószínűleg nem róluk vette a mintaképet. Annyira kár minden elveszett adatukért, amennyit maga a közösség ért: kánya bánja!
