An update! A new forum, new features and more.

Much has happened recently! We're back, and it's time for a few announcements and reminders. Below: learn about our new forum, new features, contest winners, a contest reminder and updated information about The What.CD Online Store! Check it out, and please enjoy.

    Features:

Concerts, Events & Meets - Our Latest Community Forum:
What.CD users have always seemed interested in organizing meets and attending concerts. To help facilitate this process we're unveiling the Concerts, Events & Meets forum! This forum will center on the organization of [Concert], [Event], [Meet], [Region] and [Network] threads intended to help Whatters connect. We'll be a bit stricter about thread title standards in this forum, so be sure to read the forum guidelines closely. We hope you enjoy!

Upcoming Concerts - Additional Artist Information:
In conjunction with our Concerts, Events & Meets forum, we're rolling out the new Upcoming Concerts listing in the info section on every artist page. Whenever a relevant event is created in last.fm's events database, it'll show up on the appropriate artist page(s) in this section. From here, thread creation in our new forum can be streamlined: clicking [Go to Thread] beside the relevant concert listing will auto-populate as many fields as is possible, format the title properly and allow users to write additional information in the OP. If a thread has already been created, clicking [Go to Thread] will redirect to the preexisting thread.

Multiple Format Uploader - A New Tool:
We're pleased to announce the multiple format uploader! This addition to the uploading page allows you to upload multiple formats of a release at the same time. This feature will be especially useful when uploading the "Perfect 3" mp3 formats (320, V0, V2) (see better.php). Using this tool, you can upload a maximum of 5 additional torrents at a time with an option to add a torrent-specific release description to each. The optional release descriptions should contain information like encoder settings or details of the ripping process (but not the ripping log). Supported Browsers: Firefox, Chrome. Other browsers should work, but may look funny.

The Album Voting System - Added Functionality:
As promised, we've begun rolling out new features centered on our growing body of album votes. Now, whenever a popular torrent group is viewed, you'll see a "What.CD Favorites" section in the right column. This section will list that torrent group's ranking within the year of release, within the decade of release and within the overall charts.

    Contests:

The Tracker of Terror Contest - Costume Doom:
Our Tracker of Terror Contest has come to a close with the determination of the winners for our final stage - Costume Doom. Congrats to our winners, and thanks to everyone who participated! The Halloween costume winners are:

The What.CD Facelift Contest - Login Page Redesign:
We'd also like to remind you all that The What.CD Facelift Contest is ongoing, and the submission period will end on December 21st, 2012 at 12:00 AM (Site Time). In this contest, we're asking users to give our login page a makeover in the form of a new logo or - optionally - a total redesign. We hope to receive a great many entries, so please participate if you're interested. Check the thread for more contest details, and design your way into What.CD history.

    The What.CD Online Store:

What was theretofore the largest update to The What.CD Online Store (FAQ) since its inception was announced during our birthday celeyou of what's in stock and when it's going out. A warning: many of our items are being discontinued on December 14th, 2012. This effectively makes all of our current apparel limited edition! We've also re-added what's left of some of our old Rippy Sticker and Rippy Koozie stock (details below), but these items are in short supply. A reminder: all profits from The What.CD Online Store are reinvested into the store itself or are otherwise put toward the ever-increasing costs of maintaining What.CD. No staff member is paid for the work they do.

    • SIZING INFORMATION: Many of you have asked us to mention sizing information on-site. This information is also available on each product page, but click-throughs to sizing information for our apparel types can be found here as well: American Apparel Flex Fleece Hoodie, American Apparel Fine Jersey Short Sleeve Unisex T-Shirt, American Apparel Fine Jersey Short Sleeve Women's T-Shirt
    • SHIPPING INFORMATION: For those of you who have already purchased hoodies, they should be shipping out soon. Koozies are also shipping shortly. Retro Candy and Retro ? Shirts will begin shipping in a few days. Other products should be shipping regularly.
    • LIMITED EDITION (NEW HOODIE): We're offering a limited edition hoodie in celebration of What.CD's fifth birthday! For a design, we turned to onionjack's stylish retro logo from our first mug contest. The What.CD Fifth Birthday Limited Edition Hoodie costs $50 and is printed in yellow on a black American Apparel Flex Fleece hoodie. It's our first hoodie - something many of our users asked for - and we're pretty proud of it. This item will be available until December 14th, 2012, after which point it will no longer be sold in the store.
    • LIMITED EDITION (NEW SHIRT #1): Due to popular demand, we've also decided to work with the old t-shirt crew in order to stock two throwback designs. The first t-shirt is the classic Retro Candy Shirt, and it's printed on sexy American Apparel fabric. This limited edition shirt is being sold for $30. This item will be available until December 14th, 2012, after which point it will no longer be sold in the store.
    • LIMITED EDITION (NEW SHIRT #2): Our second retro shirt is our Retro ? Shirt, brought back by popular demand. This shirt has been around since the olden days, and we couldn't celebrate our fifth birthday without making it available for you nostalgic folks out there. This shirt is being printed on American Apparel, and is available for $25. This item will be available until December 14th, 2012, after which point it will no longer be sold in the store.
    • LIMITED EDITION (4x SHIRT SALE): It feels like it wasn't that long ago that we held our first apparel design contest, but time has flown by. achifari, Fire_Couch, monotoo and vulgarbulgar each submitted terrific designs in that contest, and we honored them by making their contributions our 'Original Four' designs, each put into regular print in the store. Well, the time has come to retire these designs, and make room for new surprises. The Original Release Shirt, Headphones Shirt, Hexagon 27 Shirt and The What Network Shirt - each printed on American Apparel stock - have had their prices reduced from $25 to $22. This is your last chance to pick them up, so let's give them a proper send-off. These items will be available until December 14th, 2012, after which point they will no longer be sold in the store.
    • LIMITED EDITION (L.E. SALE): We have roughly 120 prints left of P1um's stellar This is My Jam! Shirt. The design is printed on American Apparel, and we've decided to enact a birthday discount, cutting the original price of $30 to $26. They're going fast, and when supplies are gone, they're gone. This item will be available until stock is depleted, after which point it will no longer be sold in the store.
    • INVENTORY CHANGE (STICKERS): Our beloved Rippy Sticker (very limited supply remaining) have been replaced by awesome Onionjack Sticker Packs. This design is the same as that featured on our introductory hoodie. These two-color stickers are 3"x3" squares printed on durable vinyl. A pack of 5 stickers costs $6.50, and a pack of 10 costs $10. As a bonus, you'll be able to get stickers 40% of when you add them to a shirt order. Lastly, these are also donor items, meaning that you'll qualify for donor status on site when you purchase them (please see the FAQ for more information about Donor Items).
    • INVENTORY CHANGE (KOOZIES): We're also retiring our collapsible Rippy Koozie (limited supply remaining), and replacing it with our Retro Logo Koozie. This collapsible can holder will keep your beverages frosty, and features our classic login page logo on both sides. These koozies are being sold for $5 each.
