Data Loss Compensation Package

As promised, we are offering a compensation package to all users. After considering member suggestions and having an internal discussion, we decided on the following package:

1) All H&Rs have been removed.
2) If your seedtime on an episode torrent uploaded before April 8th 2015 is less than 24 hours, it has been increased to 24 hours.
3) If your seedtime on a season torrent uploaded before April 8th 2015 is less than 168 hours, it has been increased to 168 hours.
4) At the end of day on April 26th 2015, we will add to your snatchlist every torrent you have fully seeded at any time between April 20th 2015 and April 26th 2015 but was not already on your snatchlist.
5) If you purchased a userclass promotion between February 10th 2015 and April 8th 2015 and your total data was less than the requirement for the promotion, we have added the difference to your account. The addition was split evenly between download and upload.
6) For the next 60 days, there will be a 2x multiplier to traffic.
7) For the next 67 days, there will be a 2x multiplier to bonus points.
8) For the next 60 days, there will be a 2x multiplier to seedtime.

Adding torrents to your snatchlist will also create upload snatches for the uploaders of torrents missing from your snatchlist. We increased the duration of the 2x bonus points from 60 to 67 days to compensate for the delay in removing H&Rs. The 2x bonus point multiplier will not be reflected in your bonus point rates, but it will be applied to your account properly.

When considering what kind of compensation to give, our foremost goal was to find a package that was fair to all users. For this reason, we will not be restoring stats based on screenshots. Although we take responsibility for the data loss, we also strive to provide quality and available services to all of our members. Most members have the expectation that our services will work without data loss or undue interruptions, and this is perfectly reasonable. As a result, most members will not have screenshots of their stats. Giving extra or individualized compensation to members with screenshots is unfair to those that do not have them. Furthermore, it is very difficult to verify the authenticity of screenshots.

Another suggestion made by several members was to promote everybody one userclass. The issue with this form of compensation is that it unfairly favours higher userclasses. A promotion from Master to Overlord is far more valuable than a promotion from Member to Power User. There is also no easy way to promote those with a userclass of Overlord or higher, because special userclasses are not part of the normal userclass system.

We believe this compensation package is fairly generous, can be taken advantage of by all members, and will scale well. We hope you agree and find that it makes up for your lost stats.
