A hit and run occurs when you delete a torrent from the torrent client without fulfilling the following rule:
“Each torrent must be kept mandatory for the first 30 minutes from its download, without stopping or pausing the torrent client. Then, it must be kept at seed until it reaches ratio 1,000 per torrent or at least 48 hours cumulated within 30 days.
Once you accumulated 30 hits and runs, your right to download will be eliminated.

The rule above applies to all types of torrents, including free (freeleech).
The free tag means that only the upload is recorded for that torrent while the download is free.
