At around 04:00 UTC today, the backend server decided to reboot itself. Perhaps someone unplugged the server to run a vacuum cleaner.

At least one file was corrupted. Murphy's law applies, and the principal seeder statistics table was damaged. It resisted all attempts to repair it (and there may have been others) so I restored from the latest backup which is about 17 hours old. The good news is that the restore process performed without a hitch.

The bad news is that any upload, any change, any forum post after that time no longer exists.

I took the opportunity to do a full system upgrade, so there is no great loss without some small gain.

In compensation, everyone who has logged into the site since the beginning of the month has been granted 15000 bonus points.
